DARTING BASICS
WARNING:
Due to the nature of the dart itself, the game of darts is not recommended for small children. However, children who do play should be closely supervised by an adult. THROW 'EM SAFE.
- The center of the dart board should be 5’8” from the floor.
- The minimum distance that a player can stand from the dart board is 7’ 9 ¼”. (See diagram)
- The “toe-line” can be plainly marked on the floor with masking tape, etc.
- To determine who will start the game, a toss of a coin or other means is required. The winner of the toss will throw first; the opponent will throw first in the next game. Each player will then alternate throwing first in subsequent games until a win is reached.
- The throw consists of three darts unless the game is finished in less.
- Darts cannot be re-thrown in a game. Darts only count when they are touching the surface of the board.
- A player is allowed to ask what number he/she has scored or how many points are needed to win the game. He/she may NOT be told how to achieve the required points.
- If the number scored to win the game is higher than required, then the throw ends and no points are counted on that particular throw.
- The inner bull, (50), counts as the double of the outer bull, (25).
